Asperger's Syndrome(AS) and High Functioning Autism(HFA) are not "Bad Attitude" problems but neurodeveopmental disabilities that impair the very parts of the brain that allow people to communicate, make friends, and survive in the everyday world. Since the dawn of time, AS and HFA people were dismissed as being merely neurotic, antisocial, and noncompliant. Fortunately, modern science has recently started to acknowledge the existence of these disabilities. A support group has been formed to provide not only emotional support but also a positive and constructive environment where AS and HFA people are encouraged to challenge and apply themselves.
