get on email list
I use the list to keep me informed of high quality new music.
I really love that they have a cutting edge altcountry and vintage coountry savvy crew. - hernan , posted 01/22/06

Go somewhere else for records
Small store, not many records. Especially small collection of electronica records. - Stuart , posted 11/26/05

When you want to impress your friends...
Aquarius is one of the few record stores known internationally. Even though everyone in SF goes to Amoeba (and really, why shouldn't you), Aquarius manages to survive by handpicking only the best, rarest, and weirdest music around. Definitely worth a special trip, you can check out all the new stuff in their listening station. - mark , posted 10/21/04

If it's your kinda scene, you're golden
If you like Top 40 or something, this is probably the worst record store on the planet. But if you like indie stuff, this is your store. It's still pretty small though. But really good selection of a very specific type... - ColonelTCB , posted 10/20/04

QUALITY not quantity
I don't want to say too much, since they're my favorite "unknown" record store.
But definitely one of the best in SF, nonetheless. - Greg , posted 10/15/04

Excellent reviews of albums
They don't have as big of a selection as Amoeba, but their knowledge of what they do have far exceeds Amoeba's inventory any day. - Unsubscribed , posted 10/15/04

Small But...
A very small shop compared to the likes of Amoeba and Rasputin but the selection is very good for some of the more obscure, hard to find stuff. The staff is very knowledgeable and rather friendly considering how much knowledge they have packed in their heads. - c j , posted 09/03/04

good, but
Their space is limited and so if you're looking for something specific you might do better looking at the Rasputin's downtown, Amoeba on Haight, or that nice little place up in Noe. Their reviews are nice, but I've found that they often will praise things more in proportion to indie cred than actual listenability. - Matt , posted 08/27/04

Fantastic Alternative Record Store!
This is a great Mission District treasure. You'll find stuff at Aquarius that you won't find anywhere else. They take great pains to review the lion's share of their records and are always on top of new releases. - Darian , posted 07/30/04
