Dear Creative Drifter,
Our writing group has lost two members to higher institutions of learning and beauty. Rather than fade out as other small creative clusters might, we would like to offer a few seats to some of you nomads that want to get back into regular writing practice. Our method is very simple: meet at coffee shop, talk for an hour, write for fifteen minutes. From a more glorified perspective, you might say that our method is to connect with story and allow writing to follow. Or yet another way: listen, speak, observe, write. I think you get the idea...
In addition to our weekly cafe meeting, we also have an online Google group for posting messages and documents. I should say that there's no pressure to publish or finish anything unless you say that you want support in that direction. However, it's appreciated if you have an interest in reviewing the work of others.
If you're interested, just write me a note. You can send a writing sample if you want, or tell me what your previous experience with writing groups is, or what your expectations might be of this group. Have you been away from writing? Why? What's up? Just be up front. We are very conversation-centric and curious, so don't be shy.
Hope to hear from you soon-
Carlo
