The Heather Gold Show, a monthly, live & online talk show in San Francisco is looking for a part-time production assistant/intern. We are expanding our online presence and would like to add a motivated, creative person to our team to work approximately 4-10 hours a month.
Duties include
* Help with the live production, on the second monday of each month (starting December 9)
o Work box office before show
o Help with Venue Setup / Cleanup after the show
* Some light data entry/bookkeeping (updating Heather's shows in our database)
* Promotion of the show (posting to web sites, sending to entertainment listing sources, etc)
About you
You should be a motivated, detail-oriented person who enjoys working with people in person but also online. You should be able to get things done in the frantic pace of a theatrical production, yet be cool and collected enough to help all our guests have a pleasant and engaging experience.
This is a great opportunity for a student or recent graduate who is interested in getting real marketing and production experience for independent live/online movies shows. You may be able to get course credit for working with us, which we are happy to support.
Please send a cover letter and resume detailing previous relevant experience to anca@subvert.com. Send your resume in one of the following formats: (1) Plain text, (2) HTML email, (3) PDF, (4)URL.
About the Heather Gold Show
Geek comedian Heather Gold reinvents the talk show live from San Francisco. The show creates space for the important public conversations we need to have.
THGS takes people from very diverse backgrounds and connects them around a passion/question/theme so that the room has many routes of curious inquiry to connect to something of universal interest. Unlike traditional television programming, it doesn't separate the personal from the political or substance from irreverence. The guests engage each other and the audience. No one is there to sell anything or has pre-scripted their conversation. We are actually talking about what we care about most. And anyone who bakes (and many often do) or needs to can come for free. Past guests include CorningWare designer and past Director of Stanford's Process of Change Lab Sara Little Turnbull, Dr. Lillian Rubin, novelist Michelle Tea and Flickr cofounder Caterina Fake.
We are creating a unique, live experience that is recorded online in several formats:
* Heather Gold Show Homepage (www.heathergold.com), with our blog and show archive.
* Photos and other media from the show at flickr, facebook and on our own site.
* Live Webcast, recorded during the show: www.ustream.tv/channel/th...-gold-show. You can chat with us live through ustream during the show.
* Audio podcast of the entire show
* Video clips highlighting important moments in the show
* Comments and conversations taking place elsewhere on the web.. You can help us create these. Let us know if you post something about the show in places you have conversations - your blog, YouTube, etc.
