Hello friends!
North Coast Earth First! is still at it, doing lots of outreach and interviews lately, since the old growth redwoods on former Pacific Lumber land has been protected (yay!).
New campaigns are in their beginning stages, so this time is being used to build up our support network for a spring & summer campaign of non-violent civil disobedience and direct action.
If you're interested in getting directly involved, please contact us for more information. There are opportunities to experience tree-sitting, ground support, outreach, media, and Humboldt County, California!
If you can't get directly involved, and still want to help out, you can help out with donations. I've set up support programs through PayPal, enabling folks to help support for as little as $1 per month! That might not seem like much, yet a critical mass of people participating would give us really strong support.
Just think of how many people are on the internet, all over the world, and then the beauty of this idea becomes apparent.
It would only take a few hundred people participating to give us really solid support; a thousand or more people would absolutely put us over the top, and just wait 'till you see what we'd do then!
We've had over 30 tree-sits at once, in recent years, so the energy is there to really give the greedy corporations a run for their money, if/when we have adequate support.
Nobody gets paid in the Earth First! movement, all donations go towards our non-violent civil disobedience campaigns, which really sets us apart from other environmental organization who pay themselves rediculously from the donations of well-intentioned folks.
Despite this fact, we're still constantly on a shoestring budget, which is a dynamic I'm working to change.
