Who would have ever thought that an adventure that started off as merely "something to tell the grand children" would bring me onto such a positive & life changing path?
From Chardonnay to cocaine to Shimano to Campanolo.
From 1 mile to 127 miles to 575 miles to 6325 miles to well over 32, 725 miles by bike.
From Start to Finish to Mike's Bikes to Sports Basement to American Cyclery.
From 24hr Fitness to Gold's Gym to Club One.
From newbie cyclist learning "yoga for cyclist" to the Iyengar Yoga Institute to Janet McLeod to Iyengar Yoga Teacher, tony eason.
Who would have ever thought?
In 1994, I needed "something to tell the grandchildren." So, I signed up to do a bike ride from San Francisco to Los Angeles. And although many a people laughed, I completed the 7 day, 585 mile, journey. And since then, in support of the fight against the AIDS pandemic, I have completed a total of 10 cycling journeys from San Francisco to Los Angeles.

In June 2008, for my 11th Year, I will participate in an event to benefit the S.F. AIDS Foundation called Aidslifecycle. Each year, I cycle 575 miles (from S.F to L.A, CA.). And, each year, I complete the ride knowing I did the right thing.
14 years - 11 treks - S.F. to L.A.
Sometimes we want to help others, but we are so overwhelmed by all that needs to be done in this world that we don't know where to start. We hope that tomorrow or next week, when everything calms down, we will be able to become the actively compassionate human beings we know we can be. We put off goodness like we put off going on a diet.
Yet some individuals actually believe that world history is a reflection of the actions, thoughts and words of Human Beings. Here's to the friends, family, teachers, crew, sponsors, and fellow cyclist - the machinery. Don't put off goodness like we put off going on a diet. See what you can do today. Help me raise funds for the San Francisco AIDS Foundation & assist me in reaching my minimum goal of $2,500.00 to participate in Aidslifecycle 2008.
