*Looking to move soon...my roommate only needs two weeks notice…. I want to get situated so I can relax and enjoy the summer!
Hello there! I’m a mature, responsible, 33 year old woman who is looking for an equally fabulous housemate. I have experience living communally and wish to live in a stable, sustainable household. I definitely have my own life but I’m also down for hanging out and having meals together. I’m a socially and spiritually conscious woman who is warm, considerate, and compassionate with excellent communication skills. I'm really just a big kid stuck inside a responsible person's body…to me play is an integral part of life…I love to laugh and be silly whenever possible. (In between being serious, or course...) I’m not just looking to rent a room…it’s important that I have some kind of connection with anyone I live with. I have a sweet indoor/outdoor cat who loves attention. If you have a cat she would be most happy, but absolutely NO DOGS.
My ideal home has a comfortable living room with a big fluffy couch and a TV with cable. :) I just finished grad school so this summer will be all about relaxing, playing, and getting ready for the fall. I’ll be working as an elementary school teacher so I need to find a place that is pretty quiet because I’ll be planning lessons, grading papers, etc. in the evenings.
Here’s a quick list of some things about me and what I’m looking for. I’m doing my best to be explicit in order to save us all time by deterring those who are really not compatible.
Rent: $650-700 MAX
1-2 others, preferably female but the right male would be considered
Anywhere in Berkeley that's safe & quiet with good parking
Washer & dyer onsite, dishwasher is a plus but not necessary
Storage space for camping gear & bike
Enclosed back yard that's good for chilling out
Occasional pot smoker, eat meat, drink moderately, and watch TV (but not necessarily in that order!)
I like to cook healthy meals, listen to all types of music, garden & have bbq's
I love to be outside, go camping, hiking, & to the beach
I care alot about the earth...recycle, compost, use natural cleaning products, etc.
I work hard, play hard, and chill hard...it's a nice balance...
I do yoga, meditate, make collages, read tarot cards, and I’m reiki certified
I love to laugh, and my sense of humor can be a bit edgy at times…to give you an idea…my favorite TV shows are Ren & Stimpy, Absolutely Fabulous, The Simpsons, 30 Rock, John Stewart Show
I live life intentionally and am active in my spiritual practice...would like to live with like-minded person(s)...I live by principals that are based in Buddhism, but don't subscribe to any particular dogma
I go to Burning Man and other art/music/community related festivals
I volunteer at places like the Crucible
