System Capacity: 4700 cu. in. / 77 L (total) Modular: 1500 cu. in. / 25 L (daypack) Dimensions: 15 x 25 x 10 in / 38 x 64 x 25 cm (main bag) Modular: 12.5 x 20 x 8 in / 32 x 51 x 20 cm (day pack) Weight: 11 lbs. / 4.99 kg Fabric: 100% Cordura® Fabrics
PRODUCT DESCRIPTION Eagle Creek took their award-winning Switchback Max ES 22 Pack and made it even better. This convertible rolling luggage features upgraded suspension and increased capacity. The Switchback Max travels easily using its ORV wheels and Touch Point Radius handle, and zip-away backpack straps let you carry the pack over obstacle-ridden terrain. The redesigned shoulder straps and hip-belt distribute weight evenly for comfort on long treks. For shorter day excursions, the front of the Switchback zips off to become a full-sized daypack with organizer pockets. Eagle Creek increased this portion's capacity by 400 cubic inches for more carry-on potential. While this 25-inch version is too big for carry on, you can check the wheeled portion and bring the daypack onboard. The Switchback Max packs integrate with Eagle Creek's Pack-It System for efficient, organized packing and unpacking.
Bottom line The Eagle Creek Switchback Max ES 25 Pack is at once a wheeled gear bag, large carry-on backpack, and small daypack to suit the needs of most travelers.
Product Reviews Good, comfortable, convertible pack After much research, I bought this pack for a 4 month round the world trip which will be made up of trains, planes, boats, islands, city hotels, and everything in between. I think this does lean towards the smarter, more stylish look, and I don't think i would rough it too much with this pack. I decided on this one because the waist/chest strap is very sturdy/comfy so for the short jaunts that I'll be back-carrying it, it'll take the load off. Easy detachable backpack - also looks good on it's own. Only fault would be no pockets in the main compartment.
Super versatile Can take it apart to use as a carry-on and then carry the outer day pack. Both pieces are sweet and have tons of support with each pack as you carry it on your back. This is the high end travel gear, totally awesome features. Eagle Creek has done well with the water bottle holders and reinforced zippers.
