Hey Folks

I've been collaborating on and programming and configuring a new events guide for the San Francisco Bay Area and beyond. www.moonlist.net It has a growing stack of cool features that our promoter friends will find very useful .

Tis ready for your real time testing please check it out, register an account and post your event, or an event you would like everyone here to know about. In Community there are blogs, classifieds, discussions and survey polls, it is a work in progress and your input is welcome. If you have time and inclination please send a critique and suggestions, glitches, loading speeds etc. to help make Moonlist.net a better resource for all. Send it through the Feedback link on the site.

Moonlist.net For Promoters
Free to post your events in the events sections, register and account and click of the Bay Area locations or of you are out of the area click Beyond. You event will be published after we check it.

Pre Sales Online to your event is available, audiences pay through your event listing on Moonlist.net and we send you a Will Call List on day of show and a check or Paypal after the show, No set up fee. We can also take sales by phone but that does have a set up fee.

Moon Pick – Featured flyer on the front page carousel, these flyers each have to be run through Photoshop to be checked and adjusted for size and file type, then hand coded into he page, so there is a fee involved, but there are only 12 flyer places available on the front page so it is really great exposure.

Moonlist.net For Geeks and Production Companies
The front page is html and the flyer Carousel script is Java.
I love the carousel featuring flyer art and links to event web sites. I have a thing for flyer art. The carousel and which carousel in what browsers was a cow to get working and is not quite finished (yet to work out mouse over pop ups with bigger flyers) but is up and running on all modern browsers and links to the events' web sites.. The carousel top is clipart that I put in Photoshop and created separate layers from the different colors and gave give the 3d effects, then compressed the whole image down again. Design and coding time 3 days. (without a layout template) (and yeah the flash version is way cool but it is for flash 9)

The content management system (CMS) is DotNetNuke (DNN)
This is my third CMS I'm experimenting with in search of a basis to develop an all in one site, hosting, promotion, management, and administration system for events and other biz. DNN has some cool features in the right direction so far. Load up, customizing skin, configuration, and content time so far 2 weeks. (without an organizational template)

If you are interested in this kind of system for your biz stuff let me know what kind of things you think would be useful and I can program and test them out.

My other sites and CMS experiments are:
Gigslist.org CMS is PostNuke
SummerOfLoveFestival.com CMS is Mambo

Festival and Event Planning Book
And before I forget – I've been writing a book on festival and event planning and am seeking contributing articles for which you get a byline and credit and copy of the book. Can be as many words as you feel to write on any subject that helps folks make better events and festivals. Please send your article as soon as possible, as I am in the final editing stages. can be sent through Feedback on Moonlist.net
