The Live/Work Space Available:
We have a beautiful 2 room suite available in Terra’s Temple in Oakland. Move in date on/ around) November 1st.
The live/work space is a 2 room mini- suite in the upstairs of the house renting for $750. The rooms overlook the backyard and have a lovely view of the oak and redwood trees. The 4 windows get great natural light. It could easily be a bedroom and a work space, and might just be your ideal creative space for visual art, graphic art or therapeutic work. It’s really ideal for someone who wants to do some kind of therapeutic work from home, or someone who wants an office and a bedroom.
Off street parking space. The rooms are 7 feet by 12.5 feet and 9 feet by 11 feet. (total sq feet 186.5). Total move in costs would be $1500 (first month plus one month deposit).
The House/ Temple:
Large two story, 2.5 bath house shared with 3 other people. (Separate single residency in basement apartment.) Hardwood floors throughout. As a member of the house/ temple, there is also access to the downstairs main space (temple) to teach classes or run workshops or to meditate as well as two therapeutic rooms/ library/ sitting room. Fully stocked kitchen with gas stove, dishwasher and two sinks. We have a large backyard that is still under creation complete with a hot tub. Share the 2 floors with 3 other people (2 women and 1 man/ healers/ artists) and one temple cat, share a bathroom with clawfoot tub with 2 others. Wireless internet throughout. Utilities split 5 ways. Sorry no dogs!

It is a sacred space and a nexus for community committed to honoring, healing and cultivating personal, collective and systemic relations to the earth and to the divine. People come to the temple to rejuvenate, heal, be inspired, connect and collaborate. We offer affordable and accessible healing services and spiritual resources to the larger Bay Area community. We provide a sanctuary dedicated to Mother Earth in all of Her diversity where people can rejuvenate and connect with Her. We facilitate rites of passage ceremonies and other community ritual celebrations. We believe that the Temple will become a valuable resource for people in many different spiritual, political, and wellness communities.

We have a strong commitment to diversity of all kinds. Women, people of color and trans/queer people are especially encouraged to apply. We are interested in someone who has a strong commitment to the celebration and honoring of the Earth Mother in all her forms. Included in her many names are Gaia, Danu, Pacha Mama, Bhumidevi, Cybele, Terra Mater, Changing Woman, Demeter, Sita, Tlazolteotl. The ideal candidate views their home as their sanctuary and treats it accordingly. We are seeking a person who is committed to being of service to the community, because although we will be working and making a living, we are also looking to offer services and gatherings for various communities for free or by donation. Thus, we want someone who regularly participates in our Temple Circle meetings (to plan events, practice ritual and art) and contributes to our community events. We are looking for someone who is an excellent communicator, who knows how to take responsibility for their own experience, and who knows how to listen and hold space compassionately for others. Lastly, we are looking for someone who is excited to *have fun* living in community, be surrounded by and fully participating in the wonderful work being done. Ideally we are looking for someone who wishes to live/ work in sacred space, and who can commit to and invest themselves in this project long term.
