We're looking for a courteous, fun and clean person to share a 4-bedroom, 2-bath house 1 block from the Ashby BART station with 2 women and 1 man, ages 26 to 32.
The unfurnished room will be available June 1st. It is about 12' x 12'. It gets morning sunlight. The closet is about 55" long and 25" deep.
Rent is $707.50 plus utilities--PG&E, phone, DSL.
Our outgoing roommate is a guy, and we'd strongly prefer another one to maintain the gender balance. Sorry, but no couples, cats or dogs. We also are not considering people who can't come meet us in person first or summer sublets. We want this person to be a full member of our household.
The house is HUGE and has lots of character--wood floors, built-in shelves, old moldings, a classic stove. The downstairs has a living room, dining room, eat-in kitchen, den, and washer/dryer.
We have a vegetable garden in the backyard, as well as lots of flowers and a pear tree. It's a great place to host get-togethers and BBQs.
The house is a few blocks away from Berkeley Bowl, and even closer to BART, Grove Park and the Thai Temple.
We are:
Matt, 32, mild-mannered reporter by day, curmudgeonly New Yorker by night...and day. Vegetarian. Sports fan. Ping pong player.
Beth, 27, urban planning and public health grad student. Somehow manages to be both the biggest hippie and the cleanest person in this house. Brews kombucha. Yogi. Vegetarian. Very social.
Molly, 26, high school English teacher. Rock star. Known to fill house with the delicious smells of baked goods, coffee, bacon, and the much less appealing scent of incense.
We like living with other people and are looking for someone who feels the same way and might want to share in good times like cooking, watching movies, ping pong, gardening, bowling, etc.
We're hoping to start showing people the house this weekend and next week. If you're interested, please tell us about yourself and we'll get back to you.
