About Christopher: Christopher Rodriguez is a ten year old who was recently taking a piano lesson at Harmony Road Music School in Oakland and was hit by a stray bullet from a robbery across the street. It severed his spinal cord and he is now paralyzed from the waist down.

Bay Area flutist and composer Carol Alban has organized a star-studded benefit concert for Christopher Rodriguez at Yoshi’s at Jack London Square on Monday, March 24th.
Shows at 8pm/$25 and 10pm/$18.

The 8pm show will include performances by Roger Glenn, Narada Michael Walden, John Santos, Kai Eckhardt, Zoe Ellis, Keith Terry, Tina Glenn, Alvenson, Rafael Manriquez, Ingrid Rubis, Matt Herskowitz, Oakland Jazz Choir, Carol Alban with other members of the Bay Area Chamber Symphony and Fluteville. Odile Lavault's Baguette Quartette will give a pre-concert performance at 7:45pm!

The 10pm show will include performances by Frank Martin, Jose Neto, John Santos, Narada Michael Walden, Anton Schwartz, Dan Feiszli, Kai Eckhardt, Roger Glenn, George Brooks, Carol Alban, Zoe Ellis, Hamed Nikpay, Matt Herskowitz,Tina Glenn and possibly a surprise guest or two!



Grammy-nominated percussionist John Santos, George Brooks, Frank Martin (10pm) -keyboards, also a producer/arranger (has worked w/ Sting, Stevie Wonder, Ray Charles, Andrea Bocelli, etc.), Grammy award winner Narada Michael Walden (percussionist with Mahavishnu Orchestra and Jeff Beck and has produced and/or written songs for Barbra Streisand, Aretha Franklin, Whitney Houston, Lionel Ritchie, Angela Bofill, Stacy Lattisaw, Mariah Carey and others), Kai Eckhardt - world-class bassist (John McLaughlin Trio, Summit, Garaj Mahal), guitarist Jose Neto (Steve Winwood, Harry Belafonte, etc.), Grammy-nominated pianist Matt Herskowitz (played on the Triplets of Belleville soundtrack and recently recorded an album with Barry Manilow), Jazz legend Roger Glenn (has performed with Dizzy Gillespie, Mongo Santamaria, Cal Tjader, etc), bassist Dan Feiszli, the Baguette Quartette, vocalist Zoe Ellis (SoVoSo, Slammin) and Tina Glenn, Carol Alban (Principal Flute, Bay Area Chamber Symphony, San Francisco Flute Quartet), Chilean guitarist/vocalist Rafael Manriquez with Ingrid Rubis, Anton Schwartz (sax), the Fluteville Flute Choir, the Oakland Jazz Choir, Keith Terry, body percussion(Slammin), Cellist Suellen Primost, Nancy Tyler, Antonia David and other members of the Bay Area Chamber Symphony.
