It’s time to pull out the gear and get ready to join us for the annual SCPN Solstice Campout! This year’s event will take place at Bodega Dunes Park.
When is it: June 20 – 22th Friday check in anytime after 12 noon, Sunday checkout is at 12 noon. Feel free to come and join us anytime. Don't want to camp all three days? It's perfectly fine to come join us on Saturday.
Where is it: Bodega Dunes campground. Camp sites are aquired on a first come first serve basis. A sign will be posted at the ranger's check in station as to which camp sites we have by Friday afternoon.
Who’s invited: Members and e-list members of the Sonoma County Pagan Network and their Friends and Families.
What do we bring: Whatever you would normally bring to go tent camping with you and your family (including: gear, food, beverages, first aide kit, etc).
Additionally:
• Firewood for the communal fire pit
• A side dish to share and something to put on the grill for your group at the Saturday Potluck following the ritual
• Campfire stories, chants, songs
Ritual On Saturday: There will be a ritual on Saturday the 21st at 2:00 p.m. and facilitated by Thermal and Hawk.
What is there to do: Relax, hike along the trails, nap, visit with fellow pagans, gaze at the campfire, learn a new story, teach us a chant, celebrate the Solstice at one of the most beautiful spots on the California coast. (Note: Drumming will be entirely dependant on the campsite, quiet hours will be observed.)
What if I don’t camp: Drive out for the day and join us anyway! We’d love to see you and the beauty of Bodega is approximately 30 minutes from Santa Rosa which makes it nice and accessible to everyone that wants to come out and play!
How much does it cost: Admission is free. The cost of reserving the camp sites has been paid for by the SCPN. Just check in at the main gate and let them know are camping with the SCPN. If you bring your dog to camp you will have to pay for your own dog. You may also have to pay for parking if the camp site spaces are full.
A few extra details:
• We have 4 sites total, 8 campers per site for a total of 36 people and 8 vehicles. All extra vehicles will be charged a nightly fee at the campground. Fees include entry for one vehicle and one legally towed vehicle or trailer. Carpooling is highly encouraged.
• There are bathrooms with showers at the camp ground. Please bring your own food, drinking water and camp gear. Saturday evening’s feast is the only planned communal potluck meal.
• If you bring your dog you will have to pay at the gate per dog, per night. Dogs must be on leash no longer than 6' in length. Rabies certificate required.
Where do I sign up: Please RSVP to Leeanen Sidhe leeanensidhe@scpagans.org to be added to the guest list if you plan on attending. Please include if you plan on camping or being a day tripper and how many folks in your group. Everyone is responsible for their own gear and whomever they bring with them.
