ACLU North Peninsula Chapter presents:

Freedom to Know -- Sex Education, 30 min documentary

Tuesday, May 13, 6:30pm-8:00pm, San Mateo

Do you believe that all youth and teenagers deserve the right to a comprehensive education about sex, sexual orientation, sexually transmitted infections (sti's) and prevention methods, HIV/AIDS, pregnancy, abstinence, birth control, anatomy and relationships?

Did you know that many students across the country are only being taught about anatomy and abstinence? And that many of them receive "sex education" in school only once every several years?

Do you want to learn more about the California Dept. of Education's recently adopted Health Education Content Standards? Are you interested in asking San Mateo County to adopt these statewide OPTIONAL standards as countywide policy in our schools?

Event includes networking time, a 30 min. documentary, and discussion.
