It's been 16 years of madness in San Francisco for KUSH ARORA, and the party has just started. Throughout his diverse, ten-record discography, Kush has been sculpting cultural sound in San Francisco and beyond, branding his own signature imprint on bass-driven music. With a hefty discography with collaborations and remixes featuring Elephant Man, Cutty Ranks, Lady Chann, Balkan Beat Box, Eight Frozen Modules, Zion I, Nickodemus, and collaborations alongside Stereotyp, Jahdan Blackkkamoore, and J. Boogie, his sound has been sought after by futurists worldwide. All shades of dub, garage, dancehall, and Indo-Caribbean influences merge into his unique "Dread Bass" sound that has found him compared with future riddim makers like Stereotyp, Muzlimgauze, The Bug and even Adrian Sherwood. Kush’s releases can be found on labels as diverse as Top Billin, Crunchtime Recordings, to J Dub and ESL. Kush’s most recent productions include remixes for Cutty Ranks and dr. Israel, and a just-finished EP with Baile Funk vocalist Zuzuka Poderosa. Dropping at the end of January on Little Owl, it features remixes by Sonora, Negro Mozambique, Jubille & Burt Fox, Chrissy Murderbot, CEE (Christian from al haca), HXDB. Whether spinning bashment at a dubstep party, or working on Angolan riddims with Jamaican vocalists, Kush always slays any dance floor he sets foot on.
