Top scoring poet joins a small group of champions to be remembered in story and song.
----YOU, the audience, CHOOSE!
Five judges will be randomly selected from the audience to win a free drink and determine the fate of our hardworking poets!
----SEMIFINALS are April 22 & 29th.
Three rounds of lyrical combat. Often, poets must use their best work here to survive long enough to make Finals. Top four poets from each Semifinals (total of eight) advance to Finals. Door is $10.
----The 9th annual Team FINALS are on May 6th
This stellar event is a fundraiser for our team. Every penny from Semifinals and Finals go to pay for the cost of sending your poets to the National Poetry Slam in Del Ray Beach, FL.
----THE CONTENDERS:
We have one of the most respected and highly-ranked slams in the world. Usually, our contenders are a pack of hardened veterans carefully calculating their strategy. This year, however, we have a healthy mix of hungry new talent, journeyman talent from other nearby slams, and wily veterans of our own scene. Will hunger and enthusiasm beat strategy and experience? Will the novelty of fresh voices beat the familiarity of hometown favorites? Here are your contenders (alphabetically), along with any past affiliations:
